Lot’s of college talks about life-long learning,
but at Columbia College, we really mean it. We have a traditional campus, here in Columbia,
Missouri. We also have 35 other locations around the country, where we serve primarily
working adults who are going back to school. They just put so much effort into everything,
all the time. It gives me another reason to care about school and to want to do well.
It has that extra oomph that I need. Having classes and instructors there that
challenge you mentally, thinking outside of the box. My favorite thing about Columbia College is
the size. I just think that my education has taken a whole new level because of the size.
Just because of the people I’ve met, the teachers who helped me and will help me throughout
the rest of my life. Getting to know my students. I see my students
a lot – day after day, class after class. So get to know them and they get to know me,
so it helps us with that rapport that really helps when you have questions or concerns.
It’s easier to come to me – I think. The program is very rewarding because we work
so hard in such a short amount of time that when we do succeed and do very well, our teachers
do let us know and make us feel very good about the work we have done. I chose Columbia College because it was the
only way I was going to be able to get my Master’s degree. I work full-time and I’m
a full-time single mother. What I like best about being an online student is I have the
ability to literally take my school wherever I’m going. Columbia College was really the most military-friendly
as far as accepting transfer credits. The staff here is really helpful with helping
you get all the VA lined up with using my post 9/11 GI bill. If you are an international student, it is
certainly the best place to be. Faculty is really helpful. You’ll see first thing from
the receptionist to advisor, they’re always there and they’re always helpful no matter
what problem you have. Columbia College is the greatest opportunity
I’ve ever had. The professors and advisors here are going to push me and push me until
I accomplish my goal of graduation.
