If you are a very visual person, following the Studyblr community is my top tip on how to get motivated for college or school. A studyblr is basically a blog on Tumblr that focuses mainly on studying, stationery and organization. Getting to interact with students, on a daily basis, seeing pictures of their handwritten notes, their desks, and study spaces, and creating your own blog… it’s all a big source of inspiration for me, and it costs literally nothing. I learned so much from other students on this community that I decided to create my own studyblr last year, which I use to reblog the best study tips out there. You can follow me at studywithmariana.tumblr.com Music can also be a game changer for some people when it comes to getting inspired to study. To save tons of time searching for music, I recommend using Spotify and searching for studying and relaxing playlists. Most of these are only instrumental, which is the best type of music to hear to get concentrated and get your work done. Hearing vocal music can actually distract you making you focus on the lyrics instead of whatever you are reading or writing. Next thing every student should get to feel more motivated is a planner or a bullet journal. I definitely recommend a bullet journal for both planner newbies and experts. For newbies, a bullet journal is perfect because you don’t need to commit to a whole pre-defined layout and can develop your planning style and preferences as time goes by. For planner enthusiasts, a bullet journal is also a great tool because it’s very customizable and lets you integrate modules and layouts that you can’t find in a planner purchased in a store. Also, bullet journaling is a lot cheaper. All you need is a notebook, and that notebook can be as cheap as one dollar. In the end of the day, planning lets you set goals and actively organize your life. As you finish your tasks and accomplish what you set out to do you can visually see the progress through the pages and that inspires you to work harder. Another quick and very important tip is the way you set your tasks. Instead of writing in your planner that you want to end a certain task in a certain day or time, remind yourself to START the task. Starting something takes a whole lot less than actually completing a task Just by starting something, you feel like you’ve accomplished a goal you’ve written down and besides that, when you get concentrated on starting something, you actually end up working on that longer than you actually think. Finally, one thing that really distracts us and makes us procrastinate and lose motivation to study is how regularly we go on social media when we are studying Everyone is tempted to do this and I’m guilty of that too. A good way from stopping yourself from doing that is downloading an app called Cold Turkey which lets you set a timer and that blocks all of your apps making your phone practically useless during the time you set it to. You can see me here trying to access Youtube and how the app blocks me off and returns to the timer. I hope you found this video useful don’t forget to subscribe and I’ll see you next week Bye!
