Because it’s an online program you think that you’re not going to have a lot of support in person, it’s all going to be over the computer. It’s online, but it’s hybrid in the sense that all of your exams are taken in-house. You have to come into the site to take exams. You have support from the administrative staff and it’s a very small community here. A lot of the misconception I think, sometimes about this accelerated program is that it’s all online. That is not how this works. You’ll have online didactic professors who will help you with the lecture portion of the course and then we… I am a full-time clinical lead staff which means we’re here five days a week. At first it’s intimidating just because there’s so many different backgrounds coming in, but I think once the program starts going you do develop a friendship and then a family. It’s a great opportunity to grow friendships now that I’ll probably have throughout my nursing career. Even though some people move on and go different places, I think we’ve got friends now for a lifetime. The faculty here has such a warm open-door policy for students. We also help each other, and I think that’s evident in the education that they receive. With the small community here at Marian you know everyone. Everyone knows you. Everyone is so excited for you. Everyone is so supportive of you.
