In today’s video we’re going to talk about online course design. And i’m going to go and show you some templates that you can use to design your course. So stay tuned If you haven’t done so already, hit that subscribe button. And don’t forget to hit the bell for notifications. Now if you’ll remember in an earlier video, I showed you how to do online course creation with brainstorming made simple. and in this I kind of showed you how to pick out the modules of your course, what you wanted to put in them. This is the whole brainstorming process when you’re deciding what is going to go into your course. You decide what you’re going to make video on, what you’re going to make texts on and what you’re going to make audio on. I’ll link to this video in the description below. But today I’m going to actually use a different tool to show you how to make some templates. I’m over here on Thinkific. If you’re not using Thinkific to make your courses, that’s fine. But they do have a pretty nifty little tool. You can still sign up for a free Thinkific account just to take a look at this tool. And get an idea of how this could help you. The first thing we’re going to do, i’ve already signed up and I have an account. and when you come in this is the first place you’re going to go It’s going to give you a list of tasks and all this stuff over here to the side. We’re going to go to Manage Learning Content. And right below it, Courses. Now, once you’re in the course tab, you’re going to click up here on New Course. And right here it’s going to bring up course templates. You can choose a blank one to completely build it yourself. But the point of this video was to show you some different templates, depending on the kind of course that you would like to make. So over here we have one that is a Mini Course that you could use for just a little miniature thing, for leads. A Flagship Course, which is your full-blown course. A really big thing. If you want to do a pre-sell, with a landing page, to see if people are going to be interested. And that’s always a smart choice. Digital Download, so you can host digital download files. A Membership Resource Library, if you want a membership course. And a Webinar Replay. This is where you can host a webinar and then replay your video allows different people to come in and get it. I’m probably not going to go through all of these. I just want to give you a basic idea of what these course templates can do. So let’s go into the mini course. We’re going to call this demo course. When you come over here and you click how to use mini course template, and scroll down, it gives you complete instruction on the best way to use this. It says you may use it as a prerequisite or a supplement for a larger course. Bundle it with a larger course. Collect email addresses to grow your mailing list. Convert a lead into paying customers. These are the different reasons that you would use a mini course. What’s included in this template. It says how to use it Message from instructor, Before we begin, it’s very thorough. So as you can see, welcome to the course, how to use the course, message from instructors. Let’s get started, the why, the what, the how. If you go into the why, you can click to make it part of a free trial, make this video downloadable, it’s already checked to make it a prerequisite. And you can upgrade to the business setting for more. It gives you a space to put your video file. And at any time you can go over here to preview course to see how it’s looking. Instructions for course, Welcome to course, Let’s get started. So most of these have video on them. You just add a video. Add a video about what. Add a video about how. And then you a quiz. The next, another video, text, a survey. And you can even add a chapter and add more content. And any of these that you make, You can add video, quizzes, multimedia, text, audio, add a discussion, PDF, survey, downloads, presentation or an exam. So you can put any of these into any part. The nice thing about the template is it kind of gives you a structure to work through and kind of guide you along the way. So let’s go back out of this one. Okay. Now I’m back in my courses. Let’s do another new course. This time we’re going to pick Pre-sell. We’re going to call this one demo 2 Create course And again, you get how to use the pre sale template. It gives you detailed instructions. Tests an idea for an online course. Sell your course before adding lessons. Allow pre enrollment for your course. Build a wait list of warm leads. It tells you what’s included in this template. And it starts with you’re on the waiting list, a message from the instructor, which is a video. Before you go, which is a survey. Next steps, which is text. Let’s try one more. Click a new course. We’re going to choose the Flagship one this time. And we’re going to call this one demo 3. Again, you have the how to use this template, how to use the flagship content. And this one is for a full on course. Why you may want a flagship course? To become a go-to expert. To run a certification program. To run longer evergreen or timely program. Subject matter demands large in-depth courses. You’re ready to turn your knowledge into a valuable knowledge product. Again you have the welcome to the course. How to use this course video. Message from the instructor, which is always good. Before we begin. Chapter one. High-level lessons. Video, video and a quiz. Chapter two. Video, video and a quiz. Chapter three. Video, video and a quiz. And any of these you can go to add content and add the other things that you would like to add to that. Now there’s only three chapters in this one. Each chapter would probably be a different part of your lesson. One of the things I really like about this also is the bulk importer. Because if you’re doing a whole lot of video, this can save you a whole lot of time just by clicking on bulk importer. Pick all your videos, and then upload them. Now you don’t have to use Thinkific if that’s not where you want to host your course. I think going in and taking a look at their templates could be a great guide for getting you started if you feel kind of stuck on making your course. If you have any questions, be sure and drop them down below. And I’ll see you again next week. Bye. Bye Hey, thanks for watching If you haven’t already done it, hit that subscribe button.
