If you ever find yourself, wondering what

You pick up your Uke and you get it in tune. and you play your ukulele. Hey guys. I’m Kalani.
Welcome to Playing and Teaching the Ukulele, through Vandercook College of Music, MECA
courses. I’l tell you more about how to find the course
in a second. I’m so happy to have been teaching this course
for a few years because it’s always so much fun. We always learn a lot. You probably know by now, that the ukulele
is the instrument that everybody is learning and playing and enjoying – and for good reason.
It’s fun It’s accessible, It’s affordable. So many things about it are student-friendly
and it’s just a fun instrument to play. If you don’t have a chording instrument or
if your chording instrument is Piano, you might also consider playing the ukulele because
it’s a great way to get mobile, move around, get down on the floor with the kids. Hand
it to them and have them eventually play it. So there are lots of reasons that you should
be playing the ukulele, and in the course, of course we cover everything you need to
know to bring you up to speed and beyond, as to how to play the ukulele. And enjoy for yourself as an instrument you use for the classroom and for your personal life as well.
Because that’s also important. Perhaps more importantly, or as importantly,
we’ll be looking at ways to teach the ukulele to your students. And I have the added benefit
of having taught this course for several years and learning from all of you, music educators
all over the country. You’ll also be learning from your peers in
the course, so this is an active course. You’ll have assignments. You’ll have discussions.
You’ll have things that you record and upload. It’s really a lot of fun. We usually get rave reviews and people seem to enjoy this course a lot and get a lot out of it. And one thing that I can guarantee
you, not only will you learn how to play the ukulele, you’re going to finish this course
with lots of strategies, tips, techniques, and ways you can integrate it into your classroom,
if that’s one of your goals, which it is for most teachers. So to find out more about this course and
register, you can visit Vandercook College of Music. Maybe you’re on the website right
