It’s an amazing feeling being on stage
and performing to a live audience. Fahan has a really good Drama program. Waiting backstage with your friends beside you the stage is pitch black. When the lights finally come on, you get butterflies, but when you get on stage it’s just an amazing feeling. I am involved in the Choir, Orchestra and Senior Vocal Group. I’m pretty passionate about singing. I love the energy of the stage, being able to express myself through music in a really encouraging environment. The music teachers are so talented and it makes you strive to become like them and they will always push you to become a better musician, giving me lots of opportunities to perform. I’ve been doing Art since Year 7. I’ve kept it up every single year because it’s just something that I’m really passionate about. Even from the younger years, creativity is
really encouraged at Fahan. The options, in terms of mediums, are incredible, there’s so much – it’s like a treasure trove. The Art spaces themselves are incredibly fluid, they’re open and they’re airy and they’re light and they inspire creativity. Ms Pitt is just incredible; she’s your friend and your confidante but she’s also able to push you and really gives you a lot of independence which is incredible. Creativity is definitely encouraged at
Fahan and I don’t think it’s just encouraged in the Art Department,
I think it’s encouraged in all aspects of the curriculum – it’s in everything.
And you see it all around the School as well. You just know that it’s a love of
the Arts that the teachers have created, they’ve really nurtured these students and the end product is just beautiful. I’m Ella, I’m Maddie and we’re Fahan Girls.
